Helmets

The last adventure (to Italy) was just a just a couple of Helmets (Scott and Tim). This adventure (through France) will see those two helmets joined by a third helmet (Lorne)

Some calculations

Our rough map suggests that our journey will be 791 miles.
Based on our last European Vespa trip (to Italy), here are some calculated estimations.....

791 miles over 5 days = 158 miles per day
(and this assumes that we don't get as lost as we did in Holland and Italy!)

Based on our worst day average speed while in Italy (16 mph), 791 miles = 49 hours in the saddle.  Which over 5 days = 9.8 hours per day in the saddle

Based on our optimistic average speed (25 mph), 791 miles = 31 hours in the saddle.
Which over 5 days = 6.2 hours per day in the saddle

Our rough fuel consumption while in Italy was 76 mpg.  791 miles = 10.4 gallons of fuel (thats probably about 9 fuel stops)

5 days = (probably) 15 croissants, 30 beers, 5 bottles of red wine, 45 coffees, 10 baguettes, and 2lbs of French brie.

We've got a map!

The trip is only a couple of weeks away and other than booking ferries, we have done very little preparation for this adventure.  On one hand this is good and spontaneous, on the other however, this is foolish and irresponsible.

But we do have a rough map! Surely thats enough (isn't it?)

Here we go again

3 blokes, 3 vespas, 5 days from the north to the south of France.  What could possibly be more fun?  :-)
